NewPoint Group Overview

NewPoint Group, Inc. is a highly respected and experienced management consulting firm headquartered in downtown Sacramento, California, with a satellite office in Oakland, California. NewPoint Group specializes in California public sector consulting to a wide range of clients at the state and local levels.

Prior to forming NewPoint Group, from 1978 through 1995, the two founders of NewPoint Group were executives with Ernst & Young LLP (formerly Arthur Young & Company), an international “Big 4” management consulting and public accounting firm. While with Ernst & Young, they had regional responsibility for the firm’s public sector performance improvement consulting practice, and managed the firm’s Sacramento office management consulting business.

NewPoint Group was established as a California corporation in 1995. NewPoint Group’s two founding Directors have been providing management consulting services to a broad range of California public sector organizations since 1980. NewPoint Group is financially stable and focuses its energies externally, on quality client service.

The two Directors’ combined experience includes successful participation on over 600 individual client engagements for public sector entities in California, many of which were multi-million dollar projects. Projects have ranged in scope from one-week assignments to large, multi-year assignments, involving up to a dozen subcontractors.

NewPoint Group is centrally located in downtown Sacramento offices. The firm has invested in up-to-date telephone, voice mail, computer, and back-office support systems.

NewPoint Group has two full-time publications designers to assist with the development and production of reports, presentations, and other materials, including digital and electronic delivery. Our publications designers won a Silver Award and a Gold Award from the State Information Officers Council for designing and producing media kits for the California Department of Boating and Waterways.

NewPoint Group has turn-key, in-house report production capabilities. NewPoint Group primarily specializes in State of California public sector performance improvement consulting. Since 1980, NewPoint Group personnel have provided full-time professional consulting services to State of California agencies and departments on over 500 consulting projects.

The firm has extensive State of California experience with large-scale research costing projects, environmental studies, project and program evaluation, policy research and analysis, performance measurement, statistical analysis, strategic planning, business process reengineering, organizational analysis, organizational change management, training, information technology, cost-allocation, budgeting, and economic/financial analyses.
